The first Architectural Representation course focuses on the sheer basics of drafting by hand. The class has a range of intensity for its assignments so that students get both a sketching assignment and drafting assignment every week. The sketching assignment for one week would introduce what is to come for the drafting assignment in the following week.

The first project assigned students to draft an item that they use everyday in the studio aside from drawing or modeling tools. I chose my charger plug. As the project developed, students were told to combine the different views of their item from the drafting into a new item. Once finished, students worked on their shading abilities through a number of techniques.

Nearing the end of the class, assignments became more clearly architecturally based as we studied motion in our respective dorm rooms to gain an idea of circulation in a given space.
